Consultative work shop on Tribal Health
Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project has convened a “2 day consultative workshop on Tribal Health for NGOS and Stake Holders” at J.S.S. College of pharmacy, Udhagamandalam on 2nd and 3rd of April 2009.
The work shop was presided by Thiru.V.K.Subburaj I.A.S., Principal secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department , Government of Tamil Nadu. Dr. Vijayakumar I.A.S., Special Secretary to Government Health & Family Welfare Department and the Project Director, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project gave a key note address on the aims of the workshop. Dr. Preethi World Bank team leader, Thiru. U. Raveendran I.F.S., Director, Tribal Welfare, Chennai, Flt. Lt. P. Nandagopalsamy M.S., Director of Medical & Rural Health Services, Chennai, Dr. S. Elango M.D., DPH, DIH, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Chennai are the other dignitaries who took part in the inaugural function of the workshop.
The Joint Director of Health Services, The Deputy Director of Health, the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project Co–ordinatiors and also the NGOS of Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Kanniyakumari, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Salem, The Nilgiris, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Villupuram and the Medical Officers of Government Hospitals of Tribal concentrated Hospitals are took part in the whole proceedings of the workshop for 2 days.
